Dive or Snorkel with the Mantas on the Big Island

This is an activity you don’t want to miss! It’s one of the most memorable dive or snorkel trips that you can do in Hawaii and is one of the top 10 dives to experience in the world. The Manta Ray Night Dive offers divers and snorkelers the opportunity to observe these majestic animals up close and personal. Marine life is often within inches of divers and snorkelers, offering a unique experience with wild animals in their environment. This is the reason careful guidelines for manta interaction need to be followed so as not to disturb them (please read the guidelines listed below).

Manta rays are gentle creatures. Even though they can have 12-foot wingspans and weigh over 1,000 pounds, they have no teeth, and unlike many types of rays, they have no barb at the base of their tails and are considered quite harmless to humans.

Afraid of the dark? Don’t worry, plenty of light is provided to attract the plankton that the manta rays feed upon. And as far as night dives go, this is a great dive for those who have plenty of night diving experience and those that have none (but have always wanted to try it). Regardless of your skill level diving at night, our experienced and friendly guides are here to instruct and safely lead you to discover the beauty of diving with Manta Rays.  We keep our dive groups small and can accommodate any ability of diver. Our U.S. Coast Guard certified vessel is fast and safe and can access many impressive dive sites.

Bring the whole family! Don’t worry if you are the only certified diver in your group, or if no one in your party is certified. It is possible to dive or snorkel to see the manta rays at night. In fact, it is one of the only experiences that is equally spectacular for divers and snorkelers.

Amazing Manta Dive TripAdvisor

Outstanding night manta dive! Flipper and April did an awesome job taking care of everyone. Super easy dive because of the way Flipper set it up. And a dive full of joy. What an amazing experience to be with the manta rays. And the divemaster even videoed the experience and sent me a copy, which was a big bonus! I highly recommend this crew and dive and I would gladly do this again.

Magical sunset boat ride and night snorkel with Manta Rays TripAdvisor

All aspects exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Flipper, was very accommodating, patient, knowledgeable and entertaining. He quickly addressed any nerves passengers may have started with and we all had a magical experience! My teenage children, who initially rolled their eyes at the idea, exclaimed it was the best experience of their lives afterwards!!
